Our Services: Endodontics

A root canal is a treatment used to save a tooth that could be badly decayed or infected.  A root canal procedure involves the inside of the tooth being cleaned by removing the nerve and pulp, then sealing the tooth.

A tooth’s nerve is not essentially important to a tooth’s function after it has emerged through the gums.  Its sole purpose is to only provide sensations of hot and cold.

Signs to watch out for is, severe tooth ache/pain, discoloration or darkening of the tooth, swelling of the face and if it wakes you up at night.  There are times we feel a specialist should see you for a root canal. If that is the case, we will refer you to an Endodontist.

After a root canal is performed, restoration to the tooth is a must.  Permanent fillings, post and cores and/or crowns are all examples of restorations.  All are separate charges from the actual root canal cost.
